Brazen and urban, Baildon Bank’s charms are often overlooked by the dedicated boulderer. Those in the know will point to several stand-out classics, the quarry’s sunny aspect and many areas of quality rock. Ok so there’s litter, brambles, occasional feral kids and some sandy rock too – but there also much to appreciate. Thanks go … More Baildon Bank
Since March when we shared Steven Phelps’ great new topo for the Guisecliff woods there has been a fair bit of activity. Steven has updated the guide to include a lot of very good new problems. There are now around 170 hereabouts – plus they are close to the already well-documented ones at Nought Bank … More Guisecliff Update

Baildon Bank holds more good problems than some would suspect. A comprehensive guide is in preparation by Dan Johnson. We’ve seen … More New Stuff
A cluster of several blocks set high on the moor to the west of Upper Nidderdale that provides a good day for walkers who like to boulder. It is a lovely spot. The rock is good though always likely to need a bit of a brush as there’s not going to be many visits.
Burn Stones are located in a sparsely covered woodland on the south bank of the River Burn in Colsterdale. There’s a fair few boulders dotted along the hillside with the problems making use of the more obvious and cleaner ones. There’s some good technical walls and several steep offerings with the grades mainly in the … More Burn Stones – Masham Area
March has seen some exploration at Crookrise and Crow Crag. Marco Giudice has been particularly active with some very good 7a+ to 7b+ problems plus there’s some slightly easier ones from Steven Phelps and Paul Clarke. Updates on Unknownstones (West and Brimham Project)
Sitting next to the well documented Nought Bank Boulders and spread though the woods below Guisecliff are a mass of blocks. Some problems have been long-known to hold quality problems such as A Little Sparkle 7a, Afromoss 7a+ and the Mop Top problems. Over the years a number of the great and good have beavered … More Guisecliff Bouldering
