The perfect esoteric warm down after a trip to Pike Stones. Whinhaugh is best used as a summer soloing venue. The climbs are fairly easy (for the budding boulderer with a head for heights) and are more suited to a gentle, vertical stroll. The rock is remarkably clean and the locality has a distinctive remote, backwater feel about it, despite being relatively close to the road.
