Eavestone Boulder Field

Recently new signs indicating that there is no right of way have appeared.

We recently had a request to document this little are that was developed and described by Tony Barley in the Wild Bouldering guide but has not been included in YG1. Fortunately one of the team had one close to completion so:

Eavestone Boulder Field topo

A little boulder field in an open meadow near the mighty Eavestone – mostly lower grade bouldering..  First mentioned in Wild Bouldering (1997).  Pleasant and good for beginners.  Sheltered in a dry valley and mostly west facing.  No tree cover, so very little seepage. Seldom visited so bring a brush.

These boulders are NOT on access land though there has been a history of climbing here in the past. Nevertheless, this doesn’t grant the right for people to climb.  If asked to leave, be polite and do so.

The boulder field is close to the Eavestone bouldering described in YG1 and also the Lakeside bouldering described on the Unknownstones site
